My Music on RYM

A little thing about the music

From my first days here on this earth planet i have been subjected to music! even in my mummas tummy would i hear the sounds of deep purple, led zeppelin and so on.
My Musicical father left when i was four years old but that would not stop me! and the music never left my Mother as she also had a great taste too, altho this was the 80's there were a few good bands "The The" is one i remember, but i had my own thing going on. i was listening to the soul music of the Jackson Five! and other motown/soul/funk.

This was the music that helped me develop my singing voice, then it broke! lol Soon after i Moved to live with my Auntie that was a big change, and unfortunely i closed off and hid away.

I have been made to feel crap for being lost in my music by people around me at times growing up as a child, my stoned out hippie elders were usualy not in this actual reality! and what they were unaware of is that i had next to nothing in the way of emotional support from them, so the music filled that need where i lay alone in my room listening. I would usualy end up feeling bad about myself for being engrosed in the music or have comments made suggesting that i should chill and be more mellow rather than exited, so essentialy i felt there was something wrong with me and i should be more like my role models who deny, ignore and dont want to share the truth of how they feel with you.

But being enthusiastic about something like this is a wonderfull thing!!

Without my love for music i probably would have got lost in something very damaging, When i was about 20 i met my friend John Glynn on the internet who liked a lot of the music i do, we talked for some time about music, life and people and then we met up and had a good time, i remeber listening to some of the great bands of yester year and looking over at john in certain sections of the songs with a nod, to say wow that was f*kin awsome!

It's nice to find someone with an enthusiasm for something they love that you also do, i felt like it's not just me someone else understands, another person in my life who shares a passion for music and who i have respect for is my father, growing up he taught me to play guitar and introduced me to some lovely bands. Cressida, Nektar, Man and Caravan to name a few.

The sounds of Cressida and Nektar i love to this day!
